Alternative protein: Calls for stricter labelling of vegan “meat” products

Livestock farmers in the European Union are pushing for stricter regulations around labelling of vegan meat alternatives in advance of an upcoming vote on the issue. They’re calling on the European parliament to prevent labelling of products as meat when they actually contain no meat, such as “vegan sausage” or “vegan burgers”.
